Administrative Support Assistant

NOTE:
This is a TERM appointment (not-to-exceed 1 year and 1 day). Term appointments are non-status, nonpermanent appointments of limited duration (more than 1 year but not more than 4). Term employees are eligible to earn leave and generally have the same benefits as permanent employees including health and life insurance, within-grade increases and Federal Employees Retirement System and Thrift Savings Plan coverage. Term appointments may be extended without further competition (up to the 4-year maximum). The appointment to a Term position does not confer eligibility for promotion or reassignment to other positions or the ability to be non-competitively converted to permanent employment. Duties include, but may not be limited to the following:
Establish, maintain, monitor and adjust filing, communications and records control systems. Plan, coordinate and initiate arrangements for meetings, teleconferences, training workshops and consultations. Demonstrate knowledge of clerical and administrative procedures and requirements in order to perform duties that facilitate the work of the office. Requisition office supplies, equipment and publications. Review correspondence, checking for spelling, typographical errors and conformance to formats and procedural requirements. Schedule appointments and make arrangements for time, participants and location of meetings in accordance with instructions. Demonstrate ability to conduct health services research projects and their formulation, proposal application and progress reporting. Develop and maintain tracking systems to monitor progress on identified projects, timeliness of required responses and the status of any unresolved actions. Perform other duties as assigned. Experience:
Applicants must possess at least one (1) year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of this position, and that is typically in or related to the work of this position. To be creditable, this experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-6 level in the Federal service. Specialized experience includes:
knowledge of the principles and practices of health services research; initiating arrangements for meetings, teleconferences, training workshops and consultations; developing/maintaining databases, spreadsheets and project tracking systems; preparing agendas, minutes, grant applications, correspondence and photocopying/faxing material for meetings; coordinating travel arrangements; requisition office supplies, equipment and publications; basic knowledge of accounting and budgeting to create/modify spreadsheets to update expenses and budget projections; writing to prepare clear, concise reports; and conducting health services research projects and their formulation, proposal application and progress reporting. A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. All experience listed on your resume must include the month and year start/end dates. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
